10,000 Steps Challenge

Last modified: October 12, 2009 - 10:37 PM

There are lots of fabulous reasons to start walking – you’ll feel more energised, increase your social networks and feel more connected to your community. Walking is low cost, easy to start and you’ll help the environment by reducing your carbon footprint.

A workplace team challenge has been developed to launch the 10,000 steps program and your local library loan scheme. Any workplace in Cootamundra or any group of five people can register. We need 10 teams of five people!

Every step counts!

Once you’ve made the decision to start your active and healthy lifestyle, you need a pedometer:

Borrow one from your local library Cootamundra Library

Or you can purchase one from your local participating pharmacy

Or your can purchase one from the website 10,000 Steps website

Make walking a part of your everyday lifestyle -

o park the car and walk the rest of the way

o take the family for a walk to the shops

o keep it on all day to see how far you walk
