Australia Day Award Nominations
Nominations close on Monday, 22 December 2008 for Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year & Sportsperson of the Year.
COOTAMUNDRA SHIRE COUNCIL, in conjunction with the Australia Day Council, once again proposes to present its Annual Australia Day Awards in each of the following categories:-
1. Citizen of the Year
2. Young Citizen of the Year
3. Sportsperson of the Year
Nominations of persons considered suitable for these Awards are invited from organisations and members of the public. All residents of the Shire are eligible for nomination.
Nominations close on Monday, 22 December 2008 and should be completed on the form obtainable from the Council Chambers. Further information can be obtained from Linda Wiles on 69402130.
The Citizen of the Year Award is for all persons of any age, whilst the Young Citizen Award is for persons aged up to 25 years as at 31 December, 2008. The Sportsperson Award is open to all ages.
CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION IN NOMINATION:
CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
The level and standard of service given to organisations, the community generally and/or specific causes.
YOUNG CITIZEN AWARD
Same as the Citizen of the Year. A young energetic, community minded person who has generously given time and effort to the community.
SPORTSPERSON AWARD
Selection criteria for this Award will, not only be based on actual performance, but also the sporting approach to his or her chosen sport and contribution to the advancement of his or her sport.
