Conqueror Mill Demolition - Wooden Silos

Council has recently been notified by the Conqueror Milling Company that the planned demolition of the old Wooden Silos will be taking place over the coming weeks.

Development Consent was originally granted for the demolition of a number of buildings on the site, including the silos in 1999 (DA99/1200). Since this time a number of buildings have already been demolished and the silos are the next planned for demolition.

As part of the original Development Consent, a site heritage assessment needed to be undertaken and photographic records of the buildings identified for demolition needed to be created. Council is satisfied that these measures have been adequately addressed and have acknowledged the Mill's demolition plans.

Heavy patching will continue this week along the Olympic Highway south of Cootamundra. By the middle of the week patches are expected to be sealed. Final line marking and guide posting will be undertaken in coming weeks. While these works are underway, traffic will expect short delays with motorists asked to abide by the directions given by the traffic controllers.
