Application Forms for Development and Building Works

From July 1 2006, BASIX applies throughout NSW for Houses, Dual Occupancies, Villas, Townhouses, and Multi-Unit Apartments. If you a building a new home, or making additions to an existing building lodged afer 1/7/06, you need a BASIX Certificate to submit with your development application.
As from 1/11/2006 commercial and industrial buildings will have to comply with the Building Code of Australia provisions for energy conservation (Part J) for thermal envelopes/building fabric/windows/insulation/services/lighting and air movement within Buildings.
Changes to Exempt Development
State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 specifies exempt development under that policy, The Codes SEPP has State-wide application and commences on 27 February 2009. Consequently, from that date the exempt development provisions (for the development types covered by the Codes SEPP) in Cootamundra Shire Council’s Development Control Plan No. 1 “Exempt & Complying Development” will no longer apply.
